FasFold CNC ControlMind your Sheetmetal business.... One of the frustrations that can come up running a sheet metal shop is having a good quality press brake with a worn out controller: ![]() This can happen for a number of reasons including:
Traditionally you've been forced to pay high prices for rebuilt old components, or a replacement control - with the same dated technology that the machine came with 10 years ago, and then the question becomes: To Automate or not to Automate.
It is not uncommon to hear somebody say “I can not afford to automate” or “it is too expensive to automate”. On the other hand it is not very common to hear somebody say “Can I afford not to automate?” There is a very good reason for this. It is extremely difficult to calculate the amount of money lost if your machine or process is not automated. There are two ways you can lose money by not automating. One is if you quote on a job and lose it and the other is if you make less profit on a job because it took you longer to complete (Wages, lost material etc). The cost of not automating can be many times the investment of a new control, easily depending on the situation. The other important point to stress is that the cost of automation is a one off cost while the savings by automating is repetitive. If you save $1000 per month you save $120 000 over 10 years...
The FasFold Touch-screen Press Brake control can be fitted to almost any machine up to nine axes and gives you conversational programming at your finger tips, plus the ability to store programs for future use. ![]() Many machines have been saved from being scrapped, and have gone on to give many years of accurate service with these controls fitted.
